Process Index

Awareness program for saving water. A project developed in partnership with the Almargem Association, this animation aims to raise awareness about water waste.

Animation Development

In the first phase we analyzed the wastage of water and where it is greatest in the daily lives of families. In a second phase we included everything that could be done to reduce this waste and the right ways to save more water.

Process

Our process is divided in 4 sections, briefing, planning, production, post-production.

Briefing

The Briefing was carried out in partnership with Associação Almargem, in this phase the project's theme was developed, considering the target audience, the means of dissemination and all the necessary narrative, as well as the ideal duration for the awareness campaign.

Planning

After all the analysis of the material provided by Almargem association, a budget was presented, and all the planning of the script was done. After this was approved, the storyboard was developed, which aims to explain to the client how all the animation will take place and the layouts with character studies, scenery and colour tests were also presented.

Production

After validating and defining all the graphic elements, we moved on to the production phase. We start by developing all the animation, defining all the movement process, shot transitions and sound definition. In the meantime, and for an easier perception by the client we built the animatic, which is an animated storyboard, that includes the sequence of scenes in the right times, some animated movements, and some previously approved sounds. This animated storyboard is made to be easier for the client to see the final effect of the animation and to be able to include some adjustments and corrections before the final production.

Post-Production

In post-production, which is the final stage, it is where we put together all the elements previously prepared and approved, with the objective of synchronising all the animation to export the final project.

Study of the main character in the video

Model sheet

A character study is a Layout used to help characterize the appearance, gestures, and attitudes of an animated character.

Scenario

In the production, the backdrops for the shots, scenes, and even the animation sequences are developed, as well as a study of color to understand what best relates to the character.

Panoramic scenery

In this plan there is a whole panoramic movement to demonstrate all the action, from the man to water the car to the system and watering the garden.

Storyboard

The Storyboard consists of frames organized in sequence, accompanied by sound and technical information, and is prepared for the presentation of a film, program, or audiovisual project.

Animatic

The final animation sketch and the first production sequence tests.
