Animation

Today we will explore one of the main pillars of our creative studio - Animation! This service was the basis for opening and building Flow due to the fact that the Algarve, has serious gaps in the provision of this service.

The art of creating moving images, more specifically using computer graphics, is time consuming and always very complex, so in this blogpost we will only focus on the creative process that Flow uses in each project and work that involves animation. The creative process is never the same for any area, but it can be segmented and tailored for the best functioning of a creative team.

The Stages of the Process

Step 1 | Proposal Summary and Clarification

A primeira etapa é sempre a de fazer brainstorming de ideias e construir uma proposta executável. Nesta fase, é sempre importante ouvir as metas e objectivos do cliente para compreender a história que pretende transmitir ao seu público-alvo, as restrições de tempo impostas, e os requisitos orçamentais.

Stage 2 | Flattening

The process continues with the cultivation of ideas, here if the script is not yet ready, it will be written and developed. It is up to Flow to improve and innovate it. After the script is created, it's up to Flow to create all the animation.

Step 3 | Approval / Adjustments

When the script has been drafted, the foundations for the animation are created - the storyboard (visual guide) - and the graphic style of the video is defined, in order to compile the project in an objective manner. During this stage, the final parameters for executing your request are defined, in order to meet the client's wishes and expectations.

Stage 4 | Product Development Lights, camera, animation!

When the entire pre-development process is completed, everything starts to move! Characters, scenarios, and titles are created and animated. Then the animation sequences start to be assembled, finally sound and music are added, and the final post-production touches are done.

Step 5 | Final result

The fruit of all the previous steps, dedication, and constant technical improvement result in a work of excellence. All that remains is to export the animation to high definition and let the magic speak for itself!
