The journey of NECTON, an enterprise that has developed two distinct business areas—Microalgae and Traditional Sea Salt—is an inspiring story of entrepreneurship.
Founded in 1997 as a project originating from the School of Biotechnology at the Portuguese Catholic University, its goal was clear: to produce microalgae. Today, NECTON operates through two separate business units: the Microalgae Business Unit and the Traditional Sea Salt Business Unit.
Our collaboration with the NECTON team led us to explore product photography and packaging design. Creating packaging in three different languages—Portuguese, English, and Korean—was a challenge that required balancing the complexities of laws, regulations, and preferences in each language and market with the creativity needed to captivate customers.
The objective was clear: to design packaging that stands out from the competition, incorporating NECTON’s branding and aesthetics in a way that transcends linguistic and geographical barriers.
The product photography was carried out at the brand’s salt pans, where we captured images of the salt pans, the team, and the harvesting process.
This project is a testament to how NECTON embraces innovation and constant challenges, and we are excited to continue being part of this journey—creating images and designs that communicate the brand’s excellence and authenticity worldwide.
